How to Overcome Evil

I'm trying something different today—a journal entry to see where my thoughts lead. Is there anything blocking the transmission—the stream of conscious awareness coming through from my meditative self? Am I hesitating to speak up because of the current state of the world? The fear of retaliation is real, but I remind myself: I am one small person, not particularly influential, and perhaps that grants me a certain freedom. So, here I am, speaking my mind.

I just finished my spiritual reading for the day, and my mind is swimming with thoughts. How does one synthesize all the information? Spiritual texts can feel abstract, even overwhelming, but I’ve found that with a few simple tools, the wisdom they offer becomes digestible and applicable.

One of the most powerful tools I use is recognizing synchronized events. I’ve learned that when I remember these synchronicities, I’m not just recalling a moment—I’m working with energy and transmuting it. It’s not merely a mental exercise; it’s an active practice of shifting vibration and perception.

On that note, let’s talk about destructive forces in the world. This may seem like a sharp turn in the conversation, but it’s entirely relevant to the spiritual work of transmutation. When faced with a problem that requires healing, the solution is not to destroy blindly. Tearing down infrastructure under the guise of saving money does not serve the greater good. True resolution comes when we address issues at the level of causes and transmute the energy that fuels them.

Everything is energy. Destruction does not bring lasting benefits, and greed is a surefire way to ensure suffering continues, deepening society's karmic debt. The question is: What can one person do? The answer lies within. The only way to heal societal problems is to begin by transmuting the energy within ourselves.

Here are a few steps to help keep our feet on the ground while taking meaningful action for positive change. Transmuting energy means shifting its quality, turning negativity into something higher. This process isn't about suppressing emotions but rather working with them consciously.

  1. Identify the problem energy as it affects you personally. This could be fear, anger, greed, or any other dense energy that feels heavy in your awareness.

  2. Call upon your higher power for guidance and connection.

  3. Surround yourself in a bubble of golden white light.

  4. Begin the transmutation by invoking the positive opposite energy. For example, if the issue is greed, invoke the energy of generosity and good Samaritanism. If fear is the problem, call in courage and trust. If division is the issue, invoke unity and understanding.

  5. Ask your higher power to assist in releasing the problem energy, allowing it to be surrounded and neutralized in golden white light.

  6. Ask your higher power to bring in the positive opposite energy for yourself and for the highest good of all.

  7. Journal any wisdom or insights that come through during this process. You may ask yourself: What is this situation teaching me? How do I feel now compared to when I started? What inspired actions can I take from here?

  8. Trust that your efforts, even in solitude, serve the greater whole.

Spiritual scriptures have an incredible way of elevating our vibration. To avoid falling into victimhood, we must immerse ourselves in reminders of the highest truths. These truths validate our inner knowing. We instinctively understand that exclusion, segregation, civil rights violations, and dishonoring diversity are not aligned with divine will. Love, unity, and compassion are the path forward.

Here are some powerful words from spiritual leaders and wisdom traditions that reinforce the importance of inclusion and unity:

  1. Jesus Christ – "Love each other as I have loved you." (John 15:12)

  2. Rumi – "The lamps are different, but the Light is the same."

  3. The Bhagavad Gita – "He who sees Me in everything and sees everything in Me will not be lost to Me, and I will not be lost to him." (6:30)

  4. Buddha – "As a mother would protect her only child with her life, even so let one cultivate a boundless love towards all beings."

  5. Mahatma Gandhi – "Our ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty and the test of our civilization."

  6. Dalai Lama – "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive."

  7. Hafiz – "I am in love with every church, mosque, and temple, and any kind of shrine, because I know it is there that people say the different names of the One God."

  8. The Quran – "O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another." (49:13)

  9. Chief Seattle – "All things share the same breath—the beast, the tree, the man. The air shares its spirit with all the life it supports."

  10. Lao Tzu – "When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you."

The work of transmutation is not about denial or passivity. It is about choosing to be an alchemist of energy—to take what is heavy, dense, and destructive and transform it into something higher. When we heal ourselves, we contribute to healing the world.

In these uncertain times, let us remain steadfast in truth, guided by love, and committed to the work of spiritual transformation. Our inner efforts ripple outward, and that, too, is power.
