"Hell-bound" means forgetting oneself in the light of the greater whole, even when one knows better. It isn't pleasant to experience the behavior of a selfish attitude as opposed to a forgiving one. Many people, at one point or another, have had this experience. Some even create masterpieces and display destructive behaviors for the world to see.
Despite knowing better, selfish behavior may be carefully masqueraded under pretenses of greed, envy, pride, etc. You know, the seven deadly sins aren't a joke. Being aware is a matter of remaining in alignment or meditation while recognizing past energies. We all have the same lesson.
