Many people have a difficult time understanding the underlying meaning of the word “continuity.” For example, they take it to mean a series of thoughts brought together to create a story.
"We deal with things only as they affect us personally, and all that occurs to others at a certain stage of our evolution is important only as it concerns ourselves. That is the present stage of many and is characteristic of the majority; it is the period of intense individualism, and that in which the "I" concept is of paramount importance." ~ Alice Bailey
In this case, the “I” concept is the little self or ego body of man submerged in cultural conditioning. Within this tiny seed is something of relative importance: a germ or spark of life. Had one paid attention, the spark of life would have come together to create a continuous and harmonious series of synchronous events, at once penetrating to the little self and developing for the “I” of awareness.
My child was just three years old. In the middle of the afternoon, he was overdue for his long-awaited nap. The tears rolled down his ruby cheeks. To soothe his discomfort, I read him a book. This time, the book was about a bear and a strawberry. Before the end, my child was fast asleep. In a me world, mom comes to the rescue, but in a grown-up world, who is there to soothe one's discomfort?
